                                                         SHIATSU

THE HISTORY OF SHIATSU

Shiatsu comes from the Japanese word Shi which means finger and atsu which means pressure and this alternative health practice dates back to the 6th century BC.   Shiatsu is used to maintain good health.   What we do in Shiatsu is apply finger pressure to different points of the body so that it helps to awaken the natural healing powers of the body and helps to clear physical and emotional blockages.   Before we do any Shiatsu treatment on a person we must warm up the muscles like the back muscles leg muscles etc so that the body can start to open up to finger pressure.

THE BENEFITS OF SHIATSU ARE:

  • Is that it can help to relieve stress and tensions
  • It can help to strengthen mind, body and spirit
  • I can help to relieve back pain
